Not-so-September and the Cat Cafe

"Jiminy wigging christmas, Victoria.  SJH kept up his end of the bargain.  Where the hell is *your* BEDIS???"

I have... a lot of excuses, not many of them that great.  The long and short of it is, I had another major writing project that I had to be finished by early October, and so it was hard to dedicate any blogging time in September.

"Ok, but then what about October 1-16?"

Uhhhh...

Look!  The convenient distracting cat picture!!!

"I can kill you with my brain."

DG and I recently visited Philadelphia's first ever Cat Café, which for the uninitiated is just a typical cafe, but with the twist of there being cats running around.

Our trip was to the lovely little nook, Kawaii Kitty Café in South Philly, and because I still haven't prepared anything good to write about, have a photo dump of our excursion.

The cafe itself was kept separate from the cats

DG was particularly drawn to one feisty girl named Strawberry Shortcake who, I kid you not, had a warning attached to her name plaque that said "aggressive cuddler."

Meow-tcha?  Or is that just tacky...

Sampling the delights

Uncle Hank, at a grand 17 lbs, the biggest smoosh-faced cuddler on Earth <3

What's really lovely about this cafe (and likely many others) is that all the cats are actually adoptable.  Having the space in the cat cafe frees up space for other furry friends in shelters, and gives them a lovely place to run around while they wait for adoption.  I highly recommend visiting and supporting, if an hour petting cats seems like a good time to you.

And, that, in a nutshell, is going to be the crux of this year's BEDISO (soon to be N).  A lot of catch up.  A lot of musings on trips that I've taken of late.  A lot of just writing.  I'm going to aim for 31 days of straight entries, so hopefully you'll find a little entertainment in what's to come.

If you've made it this far, thanks for sticking with it.  As a reward, I now unveil this year's logo.

Oh - so the other really fun excuse as to why it took me so long to get this post up?  I recently moved to a new desktop, and neglected to remember that I don't have a layer editor anymore.  So, I had to do that in MS Paint, Word, and on paper.  Woo.

Anywho, enough dilly-dallying.  This one is dedicated to my martial arts friends who won't stop calling me Toph:

Filed under other things I cannot draw:  Rocks.

Thanks for reading.

Until the next.
