Celestial Brush Technique: Water Lily

Every so often, I'll have spontaneous nihilist moods.  They can last anywhere from an hour to several days, and I just sit around my apartment in my pajamas while I contemplate how much I hate everything in the world.  This is typically followed by a near equivalent amount of time where I punch myself in the face until I stop being emo.  More often than not, as a result of my overwhelming need to not seem like a blob of worthless, I come out of my introspection with the desire to do something super productive, if not necessarily useful.

Today was one of those days, and what came out of it was a sudden fixation on playing with popsicle sticks and Sculpey.   Maybe because it's one of the only PS2 games I own, but I quickly settled on the idea of making either Chibiterasu or Amaterasu.

The result was the following:

Before baking/painting

Time:  ~ 5 hours.
Materials:
  • Lots of sculpey
  • Popsicle sticks (for frame support, because I do not own wire, and am cheap.)
  • Paint
It doesn't look great, what with all the roughness, but I'm still happy with it.  I'll probably take it to work for a little desk decoration.

Welp.  That's all I've got for today.

'Til the next.
