And that's why you always wear your safety glasses (Warning: Gore)

Today's challenge inadvertently comes from reddit.  I posted a few of my pictures to r/MakeupAddiction the other day for some feedback, but since I had listed a picture of me as a zombie, I thought it prudent to add the NSFW tag.

Only... because I am apparently lysdexic, I actually typed [NSWF].

Making lemonade from lemons, one of the other users wittily commented "NSWF = Not Safe with Forks."

...I couldn't not do anything with that.

So, if you dare, proceed further.

This is what I came up with:

I promise, this should be the last gory photo set that I post for awhile.  I was just too amused not to do anything with it.

Relax, it's a grape.

Though - conversely, another user said "Not sure why frolicking."  I really wish I could've done more with that, but I just didn't have enough time or a good enough camera.

For the curious (and cheap) - red food dye mixed with honey, molasses, and powdered sugar make an AMAZING fake blood substitute.  It has a nice consistency, doesn't smell funny, and has a beautiful color.

Protip:  Food dye does a really fecking good job at what it's supposed to do -- dye things. So...yeah.  You know.  Don't try this if you're going to go out in public later.  You're gonna have a bad time.

Until the next.

A Mime is a Terrible Thing to Waste

#TBT

Yes, I am technically cheating right now, but it is a bit late, and I have had a much longer day than I anticipated.  I promise to put a bit more effort into it this weekend.  But, I didn't want to leave the day without a post.  On the plus side, it'll be a short one, so, lucky all of you.

This whole Victoria-does-cosmetic-expression-in-her-free-time thing?  Did not start with Lent 2014. No, I have been this terribly vain since (probably) high school.

Circa 2006, back when I was called "Vicky."  OoOoohh

Personal Sign Language

I am, by nature, a very reticent person.

There are a slew of explanations that I could list, but merely what it comes down to is the fact that have little desire to speak.  I talk rarely, and keep my breath to cool my porridge.  I keep my voice tucked away, for fear of letting it get away from me.

And this drives people insane.

Half Life.

In my early adolescence (let's say 13-17), people frequently mistook me for being years older than I really was.  I remember, once when I was 15, I told a woman that I was a freshman, and her immediate thought was that I was a freshman in university.

At the time, I was right pleased.  I took it as a compliment to seem past the chaos of my youth.

And even now, I like it when people guess me as being a few years older.  Wise beyond my years or something of the like.

But sometimes... not so much.

Some days, I just feel downright old. But not in the "Oh man, another birthday, I'm so damn old," kind of feeling.

Some days, I feel... worn.

Sleeping like the dead

HAPPY FREAKING DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME, ERR'BODY.

It's fascinating what losing one hour of sleep will do to a person on a Monday morning.  Partly, I think it's just the indignation that makes us so tetchy.  My personal sleep schedule fluctuates so wildly that I lose up to two hours per night, depending on what random Netflix series I decide to binge on next (this month:  Call the Midwife.)  And frankly, as someone who rolls out of bed by 5:30 AM, you'd think I'd be used to not seeing the sun until after I leave work at the end of the day.

Nope.

Around this time every year... this, dear readers, is exactly how I feel:

In the Valley of the Blind

Today's post is brought to you by the magic of moving pictures!  Oooooooooooh.

SJH challenged me a few days ago to a "blindfold" makeup.  I didn't think that this was necessarily a bad idea, but the problem was, I didn't think I could make it very interesting.

Turns out, even with a video, I was pretty much correct :p

I'm burning up a sun

It should come as no shock that I am a Whovian.  Not a particularly dedicated one, mind you (Matt Smith really just wasn't my cup of tea, and I've only dabbled in some of the older gen. actors, but I might start again with Peter Capaldi.)  I started with Chris Eccleston, and I was completely sold with David Tennant's incarnation of the Doctor.

Anywho, I won't gush, but I did want to share a bit of my homage to him.  I mentioned a few months ago that I attended Geek Creation Show and planned to cosplay.  Ultimately, I only managed one good outfit, a female version of the Tenth Doctor.  Normally, it shouldn't be too hard to cobble such an image together - just get a brown and white pinstripe suit, some Converse hi-tops, and you're good to go.  But I wanted to try something a little different.  I decided that I was going to make my outfit from scratch.

Poor Unfortunate Souls

I've mentioned in previous posts that I was, once upon a time, a bit of a fantasy fanatic, and that I loved dressing up like a little princess.  Above all others, of course, were the Disney Princesses.  These girls were beautiful, fun, they always got the prince, and most importantly:

 Bitchin'

Poofy

Dresses.

Makeup March, or Who is that girl I see?

*Peeks out from beneath desk*

Hi, again.  So, I have an excuse for why February saw none of my pithy musings, but I'm holding back on sharing it until I have something substantial to write.  Needless to say, it is a very exciting point in life, so hold onto your hats a little longer.  Happy Belated Valentine's Day, by the way.

Anyway, so we have sprung into March, the rebirth of the world, and the harbinger of Spring!
